This is my story
I was born and raised in Prince William County, where I attended both public and private schools. My parents instilled in me the values of service, faith, and community—my mother as a PWCS teacher and principal, and my father as a County Police Officer and Chief. These values have guided me throughout my life and are at the center of my work today.
I met my husband, an Army combat veteran, while we were in high school. After his injury in Afghanistan, we chose to settle back in Prince William County to raise our three boys. As a mom, I became deeply involved in their education—volunteering in classrooms, PTOs, advisory councils, and eventually serving as PTO President. These experiences strengthened my connection to the community and deepened my understanding of the challenges and opportunities within our schools.
During COVID, I saw firsthand the toll school shutdowns and mask mandates had on my children and so many others. This experience inspired me to become a stronger advocate for parents and children—first by working alongside other parents to push for change, and later as a member of the Brentsville District School Board.
Every step of my journey has been driven by my faith, family, and passion for making a positive impact. Together, we can continue building strong communities and ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.
